Everyday adventure

Fatherhood turns the mundane task of breakfast, like making pancakes, into an adventure.

Before kids, pancakes were just something you ate for breakfast.

Now?

They’re a masterpiece in the making. A triumph waiting to be consumed.

Will today’s batch be shaped like dinosaurs or basketballs or a misshapen cartoon character? Will there be an excessive (but necessary) amount of chocolate chips? Will half the batter end up on the counter on your slippers and somehow on the ceiling? (Yes.)

It’s messy, chaotic, and takes three times as long but somehow, it’s also perfect.

Because in your child’s eyes, it’s not just pancakes. It’s magic. And as a dad, you realize that the smallest moments, the ones you’d once rushed through when you were younger, are the ones that mean the most now.
