Present over perfect

Some days, being a dad feels like you’re falling short. But to your kids, you’re just “Dad.”

Maybe you forgot to put their water bottle in their backpack or lost your patience repeatedly asking them to brush their teeth. You replay the missteps, wondering if you’re doing enough or doing it right.

But here’s the thing—your kids don’t keep score. They don’t see the self-doubt or overthinking. They see the person who shows up, cheers them on, and makes them feel safe. To them, you’re their hero, even when you don’t feel like one.

Fatherhood isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present. And sometimes, just being there is enough.
