Writing on the side isn’t a hobby for me

It’s a quiet declaration of who I am.

I don’t write just for fun. I write because I have to.

I write because I’m compelled to write.

Because even after a full day at work, taking my kids’ to their sporting events, battling night time routines, and answering work emails at 9:30 p.m., there’s still something inside me that must get out.

There’s a voice deep inside me that says:

Don’t forget who you are. Don’t forget what you love.

So I open my laptop.

I open my notebook.

Even when I’m tired.

Even when I’m writing and nothing is coming out.

This isn’t about building a brand or chasing a dream (though maybe it’s both).

It’s about staying connected to the most honest part of myself.

Writing on the side might not be loud.

But it’s declarative.

It’s demanding.

And I won’t stop.
